Anyone have anything really smutty to recommend? I am smut-blocked again. I need to get really amped up to write this one scene, and it is NOT flowing. Everything I write is awful, truly. At least it seems that way to me.
I really need to fix this somehow... Maybe my next project should have more smut so I don't get so blocked writing it?

10:56 am - I Gots an Owie
Ugh.
This weekend could have been wonderful, but instead I was holed up in my room on my bed in pain. Why? I was coaxed into a swim race with my brother in law on Friday, and I went all out breaststroke.
I haven't gone all out since high school.
Pulled Trapezius = Muscle Spasms = OWIE
Damn, back pain is a bitch. You use your back for everything.
On the plus side, I got a lot of writing done (albeit in my notebook). Now that I'm feeling marginally better (I can sit up) I can hobble to my 'puter and transfer things. Expect some crap from me soon!

OK, so you may be wondering where your drabbles are. (Not that I expect bated breath or anything.) So my computer crashed again on Monday, and Hubs is diligently trying to fix it. So the drabbles are mostly completed (except for the Kenshin one, it has turned into a monster - sorry Ravyn!)
Hopefully it will be done soon so I can have time to type away furiously again. My muse is trudging along, and while the stuff isn't my most brilliant, it is at least something. And I have a lot of new ideas for stories... hopefully after I finish the old ones. Yeah. We'll see how that goes!

I just about threw up when I found out. Dry heaved into a trash can while my best med friend cried :)

04:40 am - Surgery. And More Surgery...
Soooo... Some of you may be wondering where I have been for the last month or so. (I hope so anyway!) And, the astute of you may be wondering what I am doing posting before 5AM. Is she insane? Is she an insomniac?
Nope.
I'm on my Surgery clerkship.
I scheduled my surgery clerkship first because I knew that there was no way I'd ever want to be a surgeon. EVER. I am just not dexterously skilled enough to make tiny, tiny stitches laproscopically without breaking a sweat and to make confident decisions about what artery is what when I only see a few inches of it.
So, on the plus side, I am enjoying myself more than I thought I would. On the negative side... yeah. This Comic pretty much sums up my life right now. Here is a bit of my schedule:
3:30 AM - Wake up. Dear sweet Jeebus, I have to wake up
4:45-6:00 AM - round on patients, frantically write notes before residents get there
6:00-8:00 AM - see same patients again with residents and learn why your plans for them were WRONGWRONGWRONG
8:00-9:00 AM - Hopefully eat second breakfast. If not, go to the Operating Room.
9:00AM-4:00PM - scrub in and retract various body parts for Attending surgeons until you want to pass out. Get grilled on things like a Pancraticoduodenoectomy with en bloc Splenectomy and choledocojejunostomy with gastrojejunostomy and portal vein resection and repair. (We actually did this. It took 8hrs, and I didn't eat from 4AM until 4PM). If I am lucky, I get a lunch break in here.
4:00PM-6:30PM - Class. Try not to pass out or get called on to answer questions.
7:00PM - get home, eat dinner, "quality" time with Husband.
8:30PM - My dear, sweet bed. Or, if on call, sleep on crappy hospital beds and get awoken at 1:30 in the morning by the trauma pager, run to trauma bay, and sleepily ask if they have ever smoked, drank or used drugs.
Rinse, Lather, Repeat. For the past 3 weeks and for another 5 more. *sob*
So, I've not been writing so much. Mostly because I am too tired. There is some downtime between surgeries & such, but I try to actually study a little so I don't look like a complete moron in front of my attendings.
I am actually having a surprisingly good time, but I attribute that to the people I am working with, who are lovely. (For the most part.)
If I wasn't just so damn tired all the time... But never fear, this is the hardest rotation, and it is all downhill from here :)
Anyway. Off to work.

09:52 pm - Moving Adventures
Ahhh... One week since I took my board exam and I am finally feeling a bit more like myself and not like the stressed out basket case I was for the past few months.
Anyway, Hubs and I moved into a new place two weeks ago, and now that I have been able to help clean up, it's starting to look like a real home. Which is amazing, considering that it was a box fortress a few days ago.
On the writing front, I have been less successful. I could not get much off of my hard drive after it crashed, so most of what I had accomplished during my boards study time is lost. Gah. On the plus side, I have some stuff in my writing journal but I haven't had time to transfer it to my computer. I'll get around to it soon. (Hopefully)
Another big time sucker is my Hub's new hobby. He now has an obsession with making almost all food from scratch. It's actually really fun, as I love baking, but it is very time consuming. I feel very gourmet!

Done. I'm DONE. I just want to fall asleep. Or giggle incessantly. Maybe it's the two glasses of champagne and the bottle of Reisling I just drank. Or maybe it is because I finished the goddamn USMLE step 1!!!!!!

I'll probably post when I'm less tipsy tomorrow. I don't care if I passed. I just care that it is done.

Thank you all for your wonderful support last night. My panic attack did last until about midnight or so, but then I was able to calm down enough to get some sleep. That is way better than my last panic attack which kept me up all night. Hopefully I don't have one during my test. That would be very, very bad.
I am trying to decide what to do with myself today... To study or not to study? Cramming helps (a little) but I need to really chill out so I can be on top of my game tomorrow. i think I'll study until about 3-4PM or so and then I will try to relax. Has there been any good fic out recently that I can read to calm me down? Any relaxation tips? I think I really need them...
